Kansas City Show Schedule Shuffle

Just to help with marking calendars for 2010 spring and summer shows, there's been a shuffle in the Kansas City area and Topeka shows for this year. The Leavenworth/Heart of America Kennel Clubs have switched to March for 2010, and it will be at the new Independence Events Center, right at the intersection of I-70 and I-470 in Independence, MO (ample parking, lots of grass, great hotels, restaurants, shopping nearby). These shows will be four days, March 18 - 21, 2010.

So, here's where it gets confusing, but the four day Manhattan and Topeka Kennel Club shows that are always held mid-August will be (pending according to the AKC website) moving into the same four days that used to be the Leavenworth/HOA shows. So Topeka moves a weekend later in August, and according to the AKC website (pending approval), will be Thursday August 26 through Sunday, August 29, 2010.

What happens to the Capitol City Cluster's old weekend? Well, great news, the Jesse James Kennel Club will be taking the Saturday/Sunday, and holding their weekend of shows August 21-22, 2010.

In a nutshell, the Kansas City/Topeka area are gaining a new weekend of shows, and also filling in the spring with the "revival" of the HOA spring shows:

March 18-21, 2010 Leavenworth/Heart of America Kennel Club shows Independence, MO
August 21-22, 2010 Jesse James Kennel Club shows Topeka, KS
August 26-29, 2010 Topeka/Manhattan Kennel Club Capitol City Cluster Topeka, KS(pending)

As you schedule your shows for 2010, please make note of the changes and additions in the Kansas City area!

Three Trails CWC Club of Kansas City hopes to have specialty news to announce very soon, so keep checking back!

Monthly Member Brags - September

MICHELLE BOYDSTON and SKYLA
Sky got her first MAJOR! On Saturday, September 5, at the Des Moines show Skyla (Sisterwood Summer Skyla) was awarded WB, BOW, and OS under judge Charlotte Clem McGowan for a 4 point major. Skyla showed wonderfully and I couldn't be prouder of my girl.

SARAH KETH and SYDNEY
Sydney, CH Kingsbury's It's My Alias ran in 9 NADAC agility events over Labor Day Weekend. In her first NADAC trials, she qualified in 7 events, and earned two titles (NAC and TN-N). Syd hopes to work on her AKC novice titles (she earned 1 JWW leg her first AKC trial this winter) this fall.

CHERI SUTTON and DUDLEY
Dudley has been studiously working on his agility skills. He's teaching his Mom to trust him to perform at a distance rather than baby sitting him. He says he's a big boy now and doesn't need a baby sitter. He wants to change the agility game from "run with Mom" to "run and catch Mom." Dudley's talked to Sydney and while she indicated that she likes the "run from Mom" game, he thinks he's really liking the "catch up to Mom" game. But he might try Sydney's game too, just for fun. :D

Dudley attended a NADAC trial September 5-7. He had 3 qualifying runs in Novice Regular, one qualifying run in Novice Jumpers, one qualifying run in Novice Chances, two qualifying runs in Novice Tunnelers and one qualifying run in Novice Weavers. He earned his O-TN-N (Outstanding Tunnelers) title. In NADAC Dudley's name is now Claymore's Dudley Doright NAC O-NJC O-TN-N TG-N

TOM and JANET STEWART and ROSIE
Claymore's Dark Blue Rose (Rosie) went Winners Bitch two of the three days in Salina and at both of the Hot Springs, AR shows with handler Sherri Hurst. Each show was a single point.
